What happens inside us before an image appears? Define your own mental territory. Make visible what normally remains hidden.
01
Concept · What happens before the image
Every image begins in a place we cannot see. An idea, a memory, a perception, an obsession, a fear, a desire. The mind interprets what happens, reconstructs the past, imagines futures and transforms reality before we can represent it.
creAtIva Vol.11 proposes exploring the mind as a creative, emotional, perceptual, bodily, social and technological territory. An intimate space that is, at the same time, shaped by culture, society, relationships, memory, digital environments and the systems that condition the way we think, feel and relate to one another.
We are not looking for literal representations of the brain or predictable images of intelligence. We are looking for projects capable of making visible what happens within us and what, from the outside, modifies our mental experience.
The call may address, among other territories
- Memory, forgetting and the reconstruction of the past.
- Dreams, the unconscious and imagination.
- Identity, doubling and the transformation of the self.
- Perception and its alterations.
- The relationship between mind, body and environment.
- Human consciousness in relation to artificial intelligence.
- Hyperconnectivity and its effects on our rhythms of life.
- Stimulus overload and perceptual saturation.
- The construction of identity within digital spaces.
- The influence of networks, interfaces and algorithms on what we think, feel and remember.
- Fragility, emotional regulation, recovery and possible forms of care.
In this context, digital connection can be understood as an ecology: a network of stimuli, relationships, images and systems that directly affects the body, attention, perception and mental health. This is not only about the internet or screens, but about observing how these structures participate in the construction of our identity, alter our rhythms and transform the ways we relate to others and to ourselves.
Artificial intelligence may be used as a tool, language, interlocutor, archive or system of interpretation. However, the project does not necessarily have to address technology. The focus must be the idea and the way each artist turns a mental process, a psychological experience or a contemporary condition into a coherent visual proposal.
What happens inside us before an image appears? What’s on your MIND? Define your own mental territory. Make visible what normally remains hidden.

Evaluation criteria
- Concept and relationship to the theme — the proposal’s ability to engage critically, experimentally or reflectively with MIND: Between Stimulus and Consciousness.
- Creativity and originality — visual and conceptual innovation and the ability to build an identity of its own.
